The third Spellbound Falls paranormal contemporary (after Charmed by His Love) is full of intrigue and passion. When mysterious and beautiful Jane Smith suddenly appears in the wilderness near Alec MacKeage’s temporary home, he is stunned but smitten. After he fights off the two men chasing her, she begs to remain hidden with him. He agrees, and despite her reticence, it doesn’t take long for Alec to learn more about her and her past. As they begin relying upon each other for more than just food and shelter, they recognize each other’s inner strength and deep loyalty. But when Jane’s supernatural family tracks her down, Alec and Jane must re-evaluate their thoughts of a future together. The ambiguous nature of Chapman’s magical world may confuse readers, and an abundance of repeated phrases is grating, but the engaging plot and red-hot romance are satisfying.
